Wages for Company Drivers 

Company Drivers:

(Wages are rated by the Area traveled.)

Solo Drivers:

From terminal in Romeoville (Chicago) to west of the Mississippi, South Eastern States:(green area)  Up to$.39** per mile west of the Mississippi.  The first and last load/unload are included in rate, any additional load/unload is $30.00 each.

North-East States: (WI,IL,IN,MI,KY,OH,WV,VA,PA,NY,VT,MD,DEL,MA,NH,NJ,RI,MA,CT: (orange area)   Up to $.47** a mile in this area.  The first and last load/unload is included, any additional load/unload pays $50.00 each. 

Team Drivers :  Up to $.46** a mile

            ** Included in mileage listed above- a performance bonus which is .02 , there is also a .01 a mile for turning 10,500 miles or more a month,  teams 21,000 miles.  If you have your hazmat license, you will receive .01 for all miles driven and R & R pays an additional .05 per mile when pulling a hazmat load.     

Right now R & R is paying $.05 incentive a mile for northeastern loads (orange area on map)

Regional Drivers and Terminal Based Drivers

Illinois - Regional Driver - Preferable live in Chicago area, equipment must be left at the terminal during any time off and may be used by other drivers if needed.

• Areas of travel - within 800 mile radius of Chicago

• Rate of pay 40 cents/mile (based on 24 hr period - or - $150/day -whichever is greater

• $25 drop/pick pay after the 1st and last.

• 2 cent per mile safety/performance bonus

• Drivers will be running the older or smaller equipment.

Pennsylvania - Regional Driver - Must live in Imperial, Pa area - equipment must be left at terminal during any time off and may be used by other drivers in needed.

• Areas of travel within 800 mile radius of Imperial

• Rate of pay 40cents/mile (based on 24 hr period) or $150 a day-which ever is greater.

• $25 drop/pick pay - after 1st and last.

• 2 cent per mile safety /performance bonus.

• Drivers will be running the older or smaller equipment.

Minnesota - Terminal Based Drivers -  Do not have to live near the terminal but, have to be willing to return the truck to the terminal during any time off or down time - the equipment may be used by other drivers if needed.

• Rate of pay - 32 cents per mile based on 24 hour period) - $25 drop/pick pay.

• 2 cent per mile safety/performance bonus.

• Drivers will be running older or smaller equipment.

California - Regional Driver - Must live nearby terminal, equipment must be left at terminal during off time- the equipment may be used by other drivers if needed.

• Rate of pay 32 cents per mile (based on 24 hr period) or $150/day - whichever is greater.

• $25 additional drop/pick pay

• 2 cent per mile safety/performance bonus

Drivers will be funning older equipment.

All Regional and Terminal Based Drivers

Must have excellent communication skills, if driver cannot be reached or a no show - 1st offense lose monthly bonus, 2nd offense - 2 week suspension, 3rd offense - termination.

Driver cannot have any unexcused late pickups or deliveries!!

No Idle time bonus!

R & R pays all tolls and approved lumpers for company drivers. 

Drivers get paid within 7 days upon receipt of clean bill and logs in our Minnesota office.  Direct deposit is also available for wage payment, along with company check or T-Chek,  which ever method would work the best for you.  We use T-Chek cards for fueling and cash advances.

R & R has recently implemented a new retention bonus as a way of rewarding our company drivers for their years of service.

2nd and 3rd year - $1000

4th, 5th, 6th and 7th years - $1250

8th, 9th and 10th year - $1500

11th thru 15th year - $1750

16+ years - $2000

*For Company Drivers,  R & R does offer a  401K Retirement Plan and also vacation pay.

*We also have a Flex and Heath Reimbursement Plan in place to help defray the cost of medical insurance. If you have your own cell phone, R & R will pay $50.00 towards your bill each month.

R & R has  Passenger & Pet policies available for drivers on certain trucks only. 

Pet may only be transported in the truck with prior approval from the management at R & R Transportation.  Upon approval the driver will be charge a $300 non-refundable monthly fee.  If at any time the estimated clean-up costs or damages are believed to be in excess of the amount that has been collected the driver will be charged for the clean-up, replacement and repair costs immediately.  The driver will have to stay in the assigned truck during the duration of the time the animal is on the truck.

 The Passenger Permit requires the person to be at least 14 years old, unless it is school age children that you would take for an occasional trip and you do need the permit with you in the truck and there is now a charge of $75 a/week.  After a specified time a review will be done on the performance of the truck and driver.. if there is not a decrease in fuel mileage, no late appointments, willingness to travel where needed, a refund of all or a portion of the $75.

        The 2007/2008 Kenworths and Volvos will be governed at 68, we have found that at this speed there is an average savings of .6/MPG--at 100,000 miles/year, which is a savings of $4,200 to $4,500/ per year!
